Job overview

We are seeking an HCPC registered dietitian with a keen interest and experience in nutrition support to join our team of dietitians working in the Wessex Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service. This full time, permanent post in our regional service is available due to promotion of the previous post holder.�

The Wessex Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Service looks after patients from a wide area including Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset, East and West Sussex, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands.

We are a friendly and welcoming multidisciplinary team, aiming to provide excellence in adult CF care. You will be working within a close and supportive team of dietitians, specialist nurses, physiotherapists and doctors providing support to inpatients and outpatients with CF.
The department of dietetics and speech and language therapy employs approximately 130 staff, providing both acute and community services in adults and paediatrics across a range of specialities.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

What you?ll do:

You will be working with adult patients with cystic fibrosis who have complex nutritional issues requiring skilled nutritional assessment and advice. CF complications include gastrointestinal problems, diabetes, liver disease and osteoporosis. You will work amongst a highly experienced MDT and be supported in your role by 3 band 7 CF dietitians. Our regional service covers a range of care environments such as outpatient clinics, inpatients, annual reviews and occasional MDT home visits.

What we?re looking for:

We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in nutrition support, with evidence of relevant, strong clinical skills. �Flexibility, ability to prioritise and manage a busy, complex caseload is essential. �You must also be prepared to manage patients who have a long-term condition and be aware of the psychological impact this may have. You should have experience of working with complex nutritional support patients requiring enteral nutrition in the acute setting. Experience of working with patients with CF is not essential as full training will be provided.�
